Not that they have anything to do with the rendering but here are a couple of things that struck me about this, one was the man's head being cut by the smoke stack seems a bit uncomfortable visually esp since the chimney is of a similar grey value to the back ground, also the place where the island ends and forms a vertical line because of the reflection and the background cabinets makes the gestalt a bit ambiguous, and lastly there seems to be an overall ambient light with the source at the camera which seems to dull the overall chiaroscuro. Just an opinion.
